Andy Devine was born on October 7th, 1905 in Flagstaff, Arizona with the birth name Andrew Vabre Devine. Andy was raised in Kingman, Arizona and his father, Thomas Devine worked as a hotel operator. He attended a number of colleges studying and playing football such as, St. Mary & St. Benedict, Arizona State Teacher's College and Santa Clara University. After completing his schooling he decided to relocate to Hollywood and see if he had a chance at a career as an actor.
