ALYSSA MILANO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Alyssa Milano was born on December 19th, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York with the middle name Jayne. Her mother, Lin was a fashion designer and her father, Thomas worked in film as a film editor. Milano was raised in Staten Island and first became involved in the acting industry when she attended an audition with her babysitter for the musical "Annie" and not even planning to audition, Milano ended up being cast in the touring musical at the age of seven.
From this point on her career began to take off. Her mother accompanied her as she toured with the production for eighteen months and then she left the production and began working on a number of other productions and appearing in some commercials.
Her first big break came at the age of ten when she was cast in the television sitcom, "Who's the Boss?" with co star, Tony Danza playing his daughter, Samantha Micelli. It was for this job that her family left New York and relocated to Hollywood, California.
Some of her other early stage roles were in, "Tender Offer", "All Night Long", "Jane Eyre" and "Butterflies Are Free". Her first major film role was in, "Commando" playing the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was this role that got her a record deal with a producer in Japan who took notice of Milano and signed her to release five record labels.
As her career progressed she was seen as a teenager on such films as, "Crash Course" and "Dance til' Dawn". It was around the early 90's when "Who's the Boss" got cancelled and Milano had thoughts of leaving the industry as she felt it would be too difficult to get rid of her innocent girl image and transition into adult roles. However, she decided to appear in a couple erotic films to see if that might help her career such as, "Casualties of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story" (1993), "Embrace of the Vampire" (1994), "Deadly Sins" (1995) and "Poison Ivy II: Lily" (1996).
Milano was able to hang on to a career in the industry for a while appearing in such films as, "Fear" (1996) and "Hugo Pool" (1997). Then having a difficult time finding more decent film roles she returned to television and was cast in such series as, "Melrose Place" (1997-1998), "Spin City" (1997-2001), "Fantasy Island" (1998), "Charmed" (1998-2006) and "My Name is Earl" (2007-2008).
As her career progressed she did return to film recently in such features as, "Pathology" (2008), "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" (2010), "Sundays at Tiffany's" (2010) which aired on television and "Hall Pass" (2011).
Milano has been married twice. Her first husband was Cinjun Tate whom she wed in January 1999 and divorced in November of that same year. She then married Dave Bugliari in 2009 and they have one child, Milo and remain married today.
Alyssa Milano has also been involved in a number of different charitable organizations such as being the founding ambassador for the, Global Network for neglected Tropical Diseases and is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for the United States. She was also involved in raising money for the Charity, Water.
