ALEX ROCCO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Alex Rocco was born on February 29th, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts with the birth name Alexander Federico Petricone Jr., born to Mary and Alexander Sam Petricone.
When he moved to Hollywood in the 60's to pursue a career in the entertainment industry he supported himself by working as a bartender while also auditioning for roles. He was lucky enough to receive some acting training from actors, Leonard Nimoy and Jeff Corey. In the late 1960's he began appearing on such television series as, "Run for Your Life", "Batman" and "Get Smart" all 1967.
Soon he also began breaking into the film industry with some of his more well known roles being on, "The St. Valentine's Day Massacre" (1967) Jason Robards as Al Capone, George Segal as Peter Gusenberg, David Canary as Frank Gusenberg and Ralph Meeker as Bugs Moran, Harold J. Stone as Frank Nitti, Jack Nicholson as hitman Gino, David Canary as Frank Gusenberg, Jan Merlin as Willie Marks, Buck Taylor as interviewer, John Agar as Dion O'Bannion, Joseph Campanella as Albert Wienshank, Bruce Dern as Johnny May, Clint Ritchie as Machine Gun Jack McGurn, Jean Hale as Myrtle, Leo Gordon as Heitler and Reed Hadley as Hymie Weiss, "Wild Riders" (1971), "The Godfather" (1972) with an ensemble cast including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Sterling Hayden, Richard S. Hooker", "Rags to Riches", "Sibs", "Hope & Gloria", "Just Shoot Me", "Family Law", "Walker, Texas Ranger", "Touched by An Angel", "The Division", "ER" and "The Wedding Bells".
In addition to his film and television work he has also done voice over work for the television series, "The Simpsons", "The Angry Beavers", "Family Guy" and "The Life 7 Time of Tim".
Rocco also won an Emmy for his role on the series, "The Famous Teddy Z" (1989). Most recently he has starred in the films, "Find me Guilty" (2006) starring with Vin Diesel, Peter Dinklage, Linus Roache, Richard Portnow and Ron Silver, "Jam" (2006) starring Elizabeth Bogush, Dan Byrd, Julie Claire and David DeLuise, "Smokin' Aces" (2007) Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Andy Garcia, Ray Liotta, Alicia Keys, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Pine and Matthew Fox, "Ready or Not" (2009), "Now Here" (2010), the television series, "Magic City" (2012), "Private Practice" (2012) and soon to release his latest film role in post-production, "The House Across the Street" (2013).
Alex Rocco has been married twice, first in 1966 to Sandie Elaine Garrett and they had three children and remained happily married until she passed away from cancer in 2002. He is currently married to his second wife, Shannon Wilcox since 2005.
