ADDISON RICHARDS BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
Addison Richards was born on October 20th, 1887 in Zanesville, Ohio with the birth name Addison Whitaker Richards Jr.  His career in the entertainment industry began as a stage actor with the Pasadena Playhouse where he later moved into the position of artistic director.
 
After high school he went on to study at both Washington State university as well as Pomona College.  During his career as an actor, he was never stereotyped to portray one specific type of character.  He easily alternated between authority figures as well as portraying the villain. 

Over the course of his career, he would appear in more than 400 television and film roles.  He worked with such studio's as MGM, Warner Brothers and Fox.  His film debut was in 1933 on, "Riot Squad" followed by small roles in, "Lone Cowboy" (1933), "Let's Be Ritzy" (1934) and "The Lone Captive" (1934). 

Some of his more well known film roles included, "Back in the Saddle" (1941), "The Pride of the Yankees" (1942) starring Gary Cooper, Teresa Wright, Walter Brennan and Dan Duryea, "Always a Bridesmaid" (1943), "The Fighting Sullivans" (1944) starring Thomas Mitchell and Anne Baxter, "Moon Over Las Vegas" (1944), "The Hoodlum Saint" (1946), "High Society" (1955), "Walk the Proud Land" (1956), "Gunsight Ridge" (1957), "Frontier Uprising" (1961) and "The Raiders" (1963).
 
Along with film work he added numerous television appearances to his resume such as, "Manhunt", "Lux Video Theatre", "The Lone Ranger", "Studio 57", "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin", "Fury", "The Bob Cummings Show", "Zane Grey Theatre", "Sheriff of Cochise", "Frontier", "Climax!", "Cheyenne", "Richard Diamond, Private Detective", "Telephone Time", 'The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show", "The Adventures of Jim Bowie", "The People's Choice", "The Red Skelton Hour", "One Step Beyond", "Fibber McGee and Molly", "Checkmate", "Mister Ed", "The Loretta Young Show", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Petticoat Junction", "The Beverly Hillbillies", "State Trooper", "Lassie", "Border Patrol", "26 Men", "Lock Up", "The Texan", "The Deputy", "Laramie", "Bonanza", "My Three Sons", "Rawhide" and his last television role in 1964 on, "Vacation Playhouse".  

Addison Richards married only once to Patricia Richards and they had one child together and remained married until he passed away on March 22nd, 1964 in Los Angeles, California after suffering from a heart attack.  His remains are interred at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont, California.
